Financial Analyst

SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for a commercially minded Financial Analyst to join a leading player within the manufacturing and distribution sector. This role is ideally suited to a finance professional who enjoys driving business performance through forecasting, analysis and strategic insight rather than traditional financial accounting.

The successful candidate will partner closely with Sales, Supply Chain and Operations, providing meaningful financial and operational insights that support decision-making and business growth.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a well-established and growing organisation operating within a fast-paced industrial environment. They are seeking a Financial Analyst to strengthen their commercial finance capability and support the business in achieving its strategic objectives.

Reporting to the Financial Manager, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for forecasting, budgeting, performance analysis and business partnering across multiple functions. The role requires an individual who can translate financial and operational data into actionable insights, helping management make informed decisions that drive profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making.
• Analyse sales, production and operational performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with Sales, Supply Chain and Operations teams to provide commercial and financial support.
• Monitor and analyse income statement performance, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
• Prepare monthly management reports, forecasts and performance dashboards.
• Develop and enhance Power BI reporting and business intelligence tools.
• Extract, analyse and interpret data from SAP to support operational and commercial initiatives.
• Conduct profitability, margin and cost analysis across products, customers and business units.
• Support business cases, investment evaluations and scenario planning exercises.
• Drive continuous improvement of reporting, forecasting and analytical processes.

• BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CIMA qualification or active progression towards completion.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance, FP&A or Business Partnering role.
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, automotive or a similar operational environment is highly advantageous.
• Advanced SAP experience.
• Strong Power BI reporting and dashboard development skills.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand business drivers beyond the financial statements.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build effective cross-functional relationships.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
