A leading organisation operating across South Africa and broader African markets is seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute Finance Controller to join its finance team based in Johannesburg.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing operational finance, financial control, reporting, treasury management, and strategic support across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timely completion of financial records, operational reporting, and financial processes across the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of trial balances, reconciliations, and financial records
• Oversee transactional finance activities including:
  • Cash management
  • Payroll
  • Creditors and debtors
  • Fixed assets
  • Revenue accounting
• Manage treasury operations, including liquidity monitoring, banking administration, payment cycles, and short-term cash flow management
• Review and approve payments and banking transactions in line with delegated authority
• Prepare financial reporting inputs, analysis, and operational KPI reporting for management and board reporting purposes
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, IFRS standards, and internal financial controls
• Review intercompany transactions and perform consolidations and variance analysis across entities
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Coordinate audit deliverables and act as key liaison with external auditors
• Ensure statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance requirements are met
• Identify process improvement opportunities and strengthen financial controls
• Support finance-related operational projects, tenders, and business initiatives
• Maintain effective finance reporting, filing, and document management processes
