Financial Controller

The key to the role is that you can operate in an environment that requires managing change and responding effectively to diverse stakeholders. You will be required to manage the Finance Department according to sound financial systems, that comply with relevant legislation and financial reporting standards.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance with completed articles
• CA or CIMA qualification will be an added advantage
• MBA will be an added advantage
• 5 years of post articles broad-based financial management experience, 3 of which, in a senior management capacity
• Manufacturing/FMCG sector experience
• Up-to-date IFRS Skills
• Financial Modelling skills
• Taxation (Company, Personal, VAT) skills
• Business Planning & Management Principles skills
• Business understanding skills

Key Result Areas:

• Establish and maintain mechanisms for budgeting, financial controls, accounting, costing and reporting including a management information system
• Prepare and revise departmental budgets and provide accurate financial reports
• Compile monthly, quarterly and annual accounts, and audited annual financial statements
• Provide financial input into the preparation of business plans and project decisions
• Provide advice on tax-related decisions
• Manage departmental activities to ensure accounting in line with IFRS and legislation
• Monitor adherence to financial systems and processes
• Ensure compliance of all policies, procedures and systems with legislative, shareholder and statutory requirements.
