Responsibilities:

Strategic management and decision-making in respect of the development and maintenance of operational activities
Management of ARC contract and careful execution of objectives as set out in the licensing agreement with the ARC and owners of cultivars
Liaison with the Deciduous Fruit Industry, producers' associations, plant improvement / - propagation organisations and other stakeholders
Planning, coordination and implementation of market needs and demand for products in identified national and international markets
Ensure compliance with all related protocols and regulations regarding the management of the organisation, including health and safety protocols
Management and maintenance of administrative systems

Qualifications and Experience:

Postgraduate qualification in Agriculture and/or Business Sciences (e.g. project management, legal, etc.) and/or tertiary qualification in AgriSciences (Horticulture / Viticulture)
5 years relevant experience in the fruit industry
3-5 years’ experience in a management position
Proven management experience (financial management, legal practice, company policy and intellectual property rights)
Sound knowledge of agricultural economics, management and deciduous fruit varieties
Excellent skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint

Personality:

Motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure
Reliable, loyal and able to make independent decisions
Excellent planning and analytical skills
Good interpersonal skills
Fully bilingual in both English and Afrikaans
Proven administrative skills (report-writing)
Very good communication skills (written as well as public performance)
Willingness to travel
