POSITION INFO:
Head of Capital and Balance Sheet Management

What You’ll Lead:
As the Head of Capital and Balance Sheet Management, you’ll own and deliver key actuarial functions that ensure financial strength and regulatory compliance. You’ll lead a talented team of Actuaries and play a pivotal role in shaping business strategy through insightful analysis and sound financial modelling.

Your Core Focus Areas:

Solvency and Capital Management:
- Oversee all aspects of SAM prudential valuations (life and cell captives)
- Deliver Solvency Capital Requirements (SCR) and iterative risk margin calculations
- Recommend dividend strategies and ensure timely regulatory submissions
Investment & ALM Strategy:
- Conduct Asset-Liability Modelling (ALM) and drive strategic asset allocation
- Set investment strategies and monitor portfolio performance against benchmarks and risk appetite
- Lead regular engagements with Asset Managers
Advanced Modelling & Reporting:
- Manage and enhance models for reserving, capital forecasting, and business planning
- Develop and maintain complex models using spreadsheet tools and actuarial software platforms
- Support accurate, strategic decision-making with robust modelling insights
Governance, Risk, and Controls:
- Perform 1st line assurance checks to ensure the integrity and accuracy of outputs
- Lead forums and committees for effective risk oversight and alignment with group and regulatory requirements
People & Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 5 Actuarial Specialists and Analysts
- Drive a culture of performance, accountability, and innovation

What You’ll Bring:

Qualified Actuary with 2+ years post-qualification experience
Deep knowledge of SAM and capital management
Proven people management experience
Exposure to iterative risk margin calculations is advantageous
Strong technical acumen, leadership presence, and stakeholder influence
