Head of Financial Accounting

SUMMARY:
A well renowned, progressive entity in the telecommunications industry is currently in the market for a qualified CA(SA) to take up a role as a Head of Financial Accounting on a fixed term contract. The ideal candidate must have at least three years’ experience in a senior management role.

POSITION INFO:

A well renowned, progressive entity in the telecommunications industry is currently in the market for a qualified CA(SA) to take up a role as a Head of Financial Accounting on a fixed term contract. The ideal candidate must have at least three years’ experience in a senior management role.

Qualifications and Experience:

• CA(SA)
• 10 years’ experience (3 years senior management)
• Telecommunications industry experience (beneficial)
• SAP R3 ERP system (essential)
• Staff management experience
• Knowledge of IFRS, PFMA and Treasury regulations

Key Responsibilities:

• Compilation of financial statements and regular finance reporting
• Regular review and updating of financial policies and procedures
• Maintenance of a reliable billing and revenue system, including debt collections.
  Compilation of company tax returns
• Maintenance of an effective system of internal controls for supplier payments and reconciliations
• Maintenance of an effective system of internal controls and management of working capital
• Review of potential investment and business opportunities
• Liaising with the Department of Telecommunications, National Treasury and Auditor-General
• Co-ordination of the external audit activities
• Liaising with the Department of Telecommunications, National Treasury and Auditor-General
• Review of potential investment and business opportunities
• Training of employees on finance policies, procedures and regulations
  Attending to ad-hoc requests
