IT Service Continuity Manager in the Insurance Company

POSITION INFO:

Role Objectives:
The IT Service Continuity Manager aims to manage risks that could seriously impact IT services. The role is also responsible for ensuring that the aims of ICT Service Continuity are met and that the ICT Service continuity strategy, processes, and plans and procedures are developed and maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Service Continuity Management

• Implementing end to end monitoring – includes both Application monitoring and Infrastructure monitoring. The latter will be achieved by working very closely with Central IT who are accountable for Infrastructure and Network services
• Document Disaster Recovery Plans in line with Business Continuity Plans as supplied by Business
• Keep DR documents updated in line with any changes or developments introduced into the IT environment.
• Coordinate all DR testing with business at specified intervals and report on outcome of testing
• Business Partner Continuity Management
• Business Partner IT Security Management.
• Work with the Incident Manager to resolve high impact production issues
• Take accountability for the management of business risks by ensuring that audit findings are proactively minimized, and existing audit findings are closed timeously to ensure a green control environment.
• Maintain the Hollard Insure Backups and Retentions policy ensuring that it is correctly implemented, tested on an ongoing basis and that reports are received at a frequency dictated by the backup policy
• Housekeeping
• Develop, socialize and agree on Service Level Agreements to obtain signoff with the entities listed below:
• SLA with Suppliers/Vendors
• SLA with Central IT
• SLA with Procurement
• Perform regular Service Reviews with the entities and provide Service Reporting against agreed SLA.

Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

• 6 years’ experience in IT with at least 3 years managing IT Operations with an emphasis on IT Applications, Business Continuity Management and Service Level Management
• Proven experience as IT Operations Manager and high attention to detail.
• Financial services exposure with emphasis on Commercial & Personal lines insurance is advantageous.
• Knowledge of & Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices will be advantageous.

Solid Knowledge of:

• Cloud services – Azure & AWS.
• Microsoft systems – Windows, servers, exchange, Active Directory
• JIRA
• DevOps

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
