Gijima Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced and technically skilled Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join a dynamic technology operations environment based in Centurion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, implementation, support, and optimisation of IT operational solutions and infrastructure services across enterprise environments. This role requires extensive experience in data centre technologies, server infrastructure, virtualization, networking, cloud technologies, security, and systems operations support in line with industry best practices and organizational service standards.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within corporate IT operations and infrastructure environments
• Microsoft certifications such as MCSE or relevant associate-level certifications in networking, virtualization, or storage technologies
• Strong experience in Windows Server installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure services
• Extensive knowledge of:
  • Active Directory
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • Group Policy
  • Windows Server 2008 – 2019
• Hands-on experience managing:
  • VMware environments
  • Microsoft Hyper-V standalone and Failover Clustering
  • SAN storage technologies
  • Exchange 2013 to Exchange Online
• Experience with enterprise monitoring, software deployment, and compliance tools
• Strong understanding of:
  • Office365 and Microsoft Azure
  • Cloud infrastructure and VPN connectivity
  • Infrastructure backups
  • LAN/WAN environments and TCP/IP protocols
  • IT security principles and antivirus management
• Scripting experience, particularly PowerShell
• Experience with automation and orchestration tooling for distributed server environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise according to service impact

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and maintain infrastructure and system configurations
• Document technical specifications, operational procedures, and system configurations
• Support and uphold departmental processes including Incident, Change, and Asset Management
• Capture, analyse, prioritise, and resolve support requests from users and monitoring tools
• Conduct root cause analysis and provide effective incident and problem resolution
• Provide proactive feedback and reporting on recurring incidents and operational trends
• Maintain professional communication with stakeholders, customers, and support teams
• Implement and maintain Disaster Recovery and business continuity solutions
• Perform patching, vulnerability remediation, and software update management
• Travel to various sites for infrastructure installations and maintenance when required
• Administer Windows on-premise and cloud environments
• Manage Active Directory, Exchange environments, Office365, and Microsoft Azure
• Support and maintain VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms
• Manage SAN environments and backup solutions including Veritas NetBackup
• Configure and maintain ManageEngine platforms
• Provide advanced 3rd line technical support and troubleshooting
• Automate build and configuration processes where possible using scripting and orchestration tools
• Maintain secure infrastructure environments and apply information security best practices
• Collaborate with technical teams to improve infrastructure efficiency and service delivery
• Support service launches through documentation, training, and operational readiness activities
