SUMMARY:
Our client in the EduTech sector requires a Mobile Team Lead (Andoid), Remote

POSITION INFO:

Our client is seeking a product-focused Android Engineer to lead their Android mobile development team. As Android Team Lead, you will work closely with a team of 3 Android Engineers providing oversight into key deliverables.

Overall, you will be joining a team of 27 members, including Product Managers, Product Designers, Frontend, Backend, Web & Mobile Engineers as well as QA Engineers. Our goal is to ship quickly and iteratively as we deliver continuous value to our customers.

The team functions using agile methodologies and is very high on ownership and collaboration. If you are ambitious and interested in solving complex problems, then we’d love to hear from you. This is a full-time remote role.

Key Responsibilities:

Have a solid understanding of key computer science concepts
Have 5 years’ minimum experience developing mobile applications
Have at least 3 years’ experience building Android applications using Kotlin
Experience building apps that have been deployed to the Google Play Store
A passion for transforming design into great products
Ability to work in an agile, extremely fast-paced environment
Can balance speed with writing scalable, efficient code
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Experience using the MVVM (Model View View Model) architecture
Excellent written and verbal communication skills which includes the ability to write clear documentation and design process flows.
Have experience leading a team of high-performing Engineers
Have a clear track record of being able to coach and mentor Engineers
Experience in Edtech and gaming is a plus

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related technical field.
Solid understanding of multithreading on Android and familiarity with libraries like kotlinx-coroutines and RxJava
Solid understanding of how to make network calls using Retrofit and Okhttp
Must have a working knowledge of DI with Dagger or Hilt
In depth knowledge of Jetpack Libraries (Room, Navigation components)
Ability to write Unit, Integration and E2E on Android
Familiarity with AndroidX testing libraries.
Practical knowledge of video media players and modular applications and or DFM
