A fast-growing South African payments and fintech business is seeking a Performance Marketing Specialist to join its Marketing team. This role plays a critical part in driving lead generation, customer acquisition, and measurable business growth through data-led digital campaigns.

The successful candidate will plan, execute, and optimise paid media campaigns across platforms such as Google, Meta, and emerging digital channels. This is a highly analytical yet creative role, combining campaign strategy, content insight, and deep performance tracking to maximise ROI. You will work closely with design, product, and BI teams to ensure campaigns are relevant, measurable, and aligned with commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, execute, and optimise digital campaigns

• Set up and manage paid campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, and other relevant platforms.

• Align campaigns to objectives such as lead generation, customer acquisition, engagement, and conversion.

• Run A/B tests across ads and landing pages to continuously improve performance.

• Optimise campaigns based on performance data, audience behaviour, and market insights.

Analyse performance and drive continuous improvement

• Monitor key metrics including CTR, CPA, conversion rates, ROAS, and CAC.

• Produce regular performance reports and dashboards for internal teams and senior stakeholders.

• Translate data insights into clear, actionable optimisation recommendations.

Collaborate on creative and content execution

• Brief and collaborate with designers on platform-specific creative and messaging.

• Provide input on copy, positioning, offers, and audience segmentation.

• Ensure creative aligns with campaign objectives and overall brand voice.

Explore trends, tools, and new opportunities

• Stay current with platform changes, algorithm updates, and performance marketing trends.

• Test new channels, formats, and tools to improve campaign efficiency and reach.

• Contribute ideas to evolve and strengthen the overall performance marketing strategy.

Contribute to team growth and capability

• Participate in KPI reviews, performance discussions, and optimisation planning.

• Continuously upskill through learning and knowledge sharing within the team.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital or performance marketing (essential).

• Proven hands-on experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics (essential).

• Experience analysing campaign and social media metrics to inform optimisation decisions.

• Exposure to informal market audiences and behaviour would be advantageous.

• Grade 12 or equivalent (essential).

• Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or a related field (essential).

Other Requirements

• Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence.

• Willingness to travel between offices in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, and Johannesburg as required.
