Platform Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a skilled Platform Engineer to join their high-performing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on modern cloud platforms, building scalable, resilient systems while collaborating with top-tier engineering talent.

POSITION INFO:
As a Platform Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building and supporting cloud-native platforms. You’ll work extensively with Kubernetes, containerised workloads and AWS, enabling development teams through robust platforms, automation and best-in-class tooling.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building and maintaining scalable cloud platforms on AWS
• Managing and administering Kubernetes environments (EKS)
• Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Driving Infrastructure-as-Code practices (Terraform, CloudFormation, Crossplane)
• Improving observability, monitoring and alerting (SLOs, SLIs, SLAs)
• Supporting release management and deployment processes
• Applying SRE practices such as automation, reliability and incident response
• Developing internal developer platforms, APIs and tooling

• Cloud & AWS: EKS, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Fargate, Lambda, CloudFront
• Kubernetes: Administration, networking, RBAC, container orchestration
• CI/CD & DevOps: Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps
• IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation, Crossplane
• Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenTracing
• Cloud-Native Tools: Helm, Kustomize
• Programming: Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript
• Systems: Linux, distributed systems and architectures

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience with Kubernetes and containerised environments
• Strong background building and supporting applications on AWS
• Experience with GitOps practices and modern DevOps tooling
• Exposure to internal developer platforms (e.g. Backstage) is advantageous
• Experience building operators, controllers or Kubernetes-native automation
• AWS certification (Associate level) or equivalent practical experience
• Solid understanding of platform engineering and cloud-native design
