Job Description and Responsibilities

• Development and implementation of strategic product plans to meet customer requirements (i.e. rationale, range, specification, positioning, pricing, volumes and model mix)
• Continually benchmark Audi products vs competitor offering and monitor industry developments for threats and opportunities in order to propose appropriate action.
• Representation of Audi product management in project team meetings.
• Co-ordination of meetings with and consultation with Audi NDAC regarding product planning internal and external stakeholders.
• Development of product information bulletins for internal and external stakeholder regarding all product innovation or changes.
• Approval of point of sale material in terms of product specification in text, visuals and tables for accuracy (includes website specification and pricing).
• Approval of press releases and point of sale material in terms of product specification in text, visuals and tables for accuracy (includes website specification and pricing)
• Management and implementation of unique product requirements for the car rental / government market via cross-divisional interaction.
• Development and implementation of price indexing methodology to ensure correct price positioning and model build-up for all products relative to competitors.
• Planning and implementation of feasibility studies for potential models to be imported into South Africa, including vehicle clinics and other research forums.
• Planning and implementing the specification for all models utilizing the Group MBV system.
• Management of specification for the FAVAS vehicle ordering system.
• Responsible for the correct vehicle order templates.
• Management of the important process from dealer order, production timing and the shipment process utilizing Group systems (FAVAS and ATLAS)
• Management of the vehicle specification tables in SAP Sales Distribution systems, which controls the wholesale pricing of all vehicles.

Education and Experience

• A formal 3-year National diploma / Bachelor’s degree from a recognized tertiary institution in Engineering / Commerce / Marketing Management
• Must have 5 years Product Planning experience in automotive industry.
• 2 years’ experience in Engineering / Sales forecasting / Pricing / Market Research or Brand Management would be beneficial.

• Exhibit relevant technical understanding of vehicle systems and technology, with specific reference to Audi products.
• Demonstrate sound understanding of the automotive market and competitive environment
• Have strategic and conceptual thinking capabilities.
• Present a structured thinking approach with sound problem-solving abilities.
• Have the ability and inclination to work accurately with detail.
• Demonstrate good communication skills (oral and written) and well-developed presentation skills with the confidence and ability to address internal and external product forums (e.g. Pre-PMM and Dealer Sub Tech Council) with impact.
• Display excellent computer literacy skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint.

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently to high quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
