Our client in the Materials Handing industry is seeking a Sales Engineer. Must have an Engineering or technical qualification and strong sales background

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Sales Engineer
Geographical area: Midrand, Gauteng
Salary range: R 20 000.00 Basic + Commission + Benefits

The successful incumbent will be responsible for:

Maintain existing business and generating new business by prospecting and cold calling in accordance with the group and individual sales targets set annually.
Develop and grow long-term relationships with customers.
Understanding the company product capabilities and/or functionalities which includes features, and benefits.
Interpret and manage all the customer and project specific requirements and that customer requests are responded to within 48 hours.
Ensuring that the product or services offered best satisfy the customer needs in terms of functionality, quality, price, and delivery.
Liaising with the internal team and other technical experts, in finding a solution for a customer enquiry.
Calculate and ensure that all cost sheets are accurate and filled in correctly.
Ensure that all quotes and drawings are checked, verified, and correct before they are signed off within the limit of authority and sent to customers.
Presenting technical presentations and demonstrating to customers how the company products will meet their needs.
Negotiating tender and contract terms to meet both the customer and company needs, ensuring a win-win outcome.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

A recognisable Engineering, Technical or Commercial qualification.
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position working with projects and selling material handling equipment will be advantageous.
