SUMMARY:

Our client, a well-established and growing organisation based in Century City, Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially minded finance professional looking to take ownership of key accounting functions within a dynamic business environment.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Oversee the full accounting function and ensure accurate financial reporting. Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain the general ledger. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. Oversee VAT calculations, submissions, and statutory reporting. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Liaise with auditors and support annual audit processes. Mentor and support junior finance staff where applicable. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Minimum Requirements BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification. Completed SAIPA articles would be advantageous. Minimum 5 years' accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and statutory compliance. Advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP\/accounting systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
