Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist

Our client, a diverse injection moulding and plastics manufacturing company, is seeking to employ an experienced Buyer/Procurement specialist for their operation in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

This role is not a management or executive role but rather a mid-career level position

Please note that due to the urgency to place this role, commitment to community upliftment and the lower level of the position, our client will only be reviewing candidates currently in the Cape Town or Winelands region.

You must be able to work independently and accurately keep records and be proactive in your approach to ensuring the profitability of the company.

KEY CRITERIA TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You must have Matric, coupled with 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics or related industry preferred) sourcing and securing goods and services for the company, at the best prices and the highest quality, with the focus on cost reduction, effective planning and waste reduction
• You will have a proven background in cost analysis, supplier management, process/policy improvement initiation, production forecasting and in-bound inventory control of raw materials, consumables and services.
• You will have been previous part of a team implementing new procedures and have had experience in enforcing new policies with both staff and suppliers
• Exceptional organisational, time management and negotiation skills are essential
• You must have a valid driver’s license, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
