JOB SUMMARY:
Urgently looking to assist my client with filling the Senior DevOps Engineer role within the Telecommunication industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Purpose:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be leading and collaborating with a team of DevOps Engineers that focuses on designing, building and deploying highly available, scalable and secure software platforms and tool sets that will significantly improve our overall end user experience, as well as further improving on our core components.
You are expected to use your vast knowledge of programming techniques, languages, algorithms, frameworks, database skills and observability toolsets to ensure software requirements are met, key performance indicators are defined, and availability / SLAs are improved upon.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leading and mentoring a team of DevOps Engineers
Ensuring that existing software systems are reliable, functional and optimized.
Design, build and deploy key internal software systems.
Work closely with other departments to understand their needs and perspectives.
Ensure general DevOps functions, such as observability / instrumentation, documentation and automation are implemented and constantly thought of.
Design, implement and ensure development standards and lifecycles.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 – 3 years managing and leading engineering resources.
5 years’ experience in software development and design.
DevOps Engineering experience
Experience in distributed and microservice architecture.
Public cloud qualifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect
