SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Senior Project Manager

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• A recognized Degree or National Diploma (ideally NQF level 7 or higher) in project management / construction / built environment / engineering;
• Professionally registered or eligible for registration with the South African Council for the Project & Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as Candidate or Professional Construction Project Manager;
• Additional project management qualifications/certifications, e.g.: PMI, PMP, and any post graduate project management qualifications, would be beneficial;
• Relevant project management experience in building, retail, commercial and residential projects or
• programs;
• Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relations with colleagues, clients and other project role - players;
• Ability to perform within a team and under pressure;
• Computer proficiency in MS Office & MS Project (Or similar programming software, such as CSS, Primavera, ASTA Powerproject, etc.);
• Knowledge of and proficiency with Document Management Platforms and BIM beneficial;
• Proven spoken and written communicative skills in English;
• A valid Code B driver’s license;
• Willingness to travel as required for projects;
• Driven, energetic, flexible and focused;
• Willingness to work in construction and other environments requiring Project Management Services.

• Managing project teams, including clients, consultants, contractors, service providers (under the supervision of a Senior Project manager if a Junior PM);
• Conflict management and motivation of the project team through leadership and proper project management;
• Fulfill the required duties of a project manager in line with PMBOK, and other project management methodologies;
• Co-ordinating & monitoring procurement of goods and services in line with contractual requirements in line with contracts such as JBCC, GCC, FIDIC, NEC, or bespoke contracts;
• Prepare programs / schedules and define target date requirements for the team, and monitor and report on same;
• Manage, monitor and report progress of the works against an approved and baselined programme;
• Co-ordinate and expedite design, specifications or project deliverables in line with targets set;
• Maintain comprehensive record keeping, including the preparation of general reports, minutes of meetings, procurement tracking, progress reports and communication plans in respect of client expectations;
• Proactively identify potential project delays;
• Develop, maintain and report against a risk register;
• Identify mitigating / preventative / remedial solutions to risks and/or delays;
• Maintain the implemented change control systems and manage contract amendments;
• Manage compliance with contract conditions;
• General management with regards to, inter alia, the identification of risk aspects, the application of Occupational Health & Safety requirements, the National Building Standards, as well as policies and procedures of the Client or other governing legislation or guidelines specific to a project;
• Relationship management, including the promotion and maintenance of good working relations and partnerships with internal clients, consultants and contractors, as well as promoting the image of the
• Project Management profession, both internally and externally;
• Co-ordinate inspections and issue of lists for close out of project;
• Close out project by expediting final account and documents, e.g. maintenance manuals / technical documentation / as-built drawings & information / guarantees / warrantees, etc.
