JOB SUMMARY:
Our client who is regarded as one of the leaders in the "Think Tank space" in Southern Africa is looking for a senior research project manager to join their team for two years. This multi-faceted role will call on you to: deliver on project objectives, produce high level reports, conduct and commission innovative research projects, work with senior researchers and policy analysts and also interact with political and business leaders.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications required:

Minimum: Master’s Degree in history, sociology, economics, politics or another social science
PhD in similar fields will be given preference

Skills and experience required:

5 – 8 years’ experience in the relevant field or in a similar role
Experience within the NPO environment or Education industry
Passion and experience in working with socio-political challenges
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Language proficiency in Sotho, Zulu, Xhosa and other African languages
Excellent report writing skills
Strong presentation, project management, planning, organising and problem-solving skills
Thorough understanding of budgets and donors

Job description:

Conducting and managing the commissioning of research
Draft and edit reports
Project proposals and reporting
Identify potential project and donors
Project planning and budgeting
Project administration and execution
Contribute to the company’s mission of promoting reform and growth in SA
Work with senior researchers and policy analysts
Interact with political and business leaders
Implement and facilitate cost cutting strategies and budget growth
