Snr Legal Specialist (R750k to R980k)

Leading Financial Serv firm seeks credible and proactive indiv. Pivotal role to provide accurate and timely legal advice to key stakeholders. Keep abreast of legislation and inform the business of its impact. Research complex legal matters. Great career opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Be instrumental in providing sound legal service.
Execute Legal strategy relating to the Business (retirement savings, insurance benefits and annuities).
Provide legal advice to the business on legal frameworks and best practice (divorce and maintenance orders, section 37C,distributions, fund rules, product queries).
Keeping abreast of new legislation, case law and regulatory changes.
Advise stakeholders of the impact (PFA, LTIA, TCF, POPI, FAIS Act, ITA, FSR Act, Insurance Act).
Support teams with FSCA, Pension Funds Adjudicator, and Ombudsman complaints and queries.
Review and approve policy documents, member comm’s, reports and marketing material.
Draft and negotiate contracts, and service level agreements.
Research complex legal matters and provide legal opinion on product development etc.
Deliver exceptional legal service. Be proactive and innovative on legal solutions.
Research and issue quarterly publications on legal and regulatory issues.
Cultivate good relationships with stakeholders (ext. attorneys, industry bodies and regulators).
Other key duties to be discussed at interview stage.

Qualifications & Experience

Admitted Attorney or Advocate.
4 to 8 yrs. Legal experience in Financial Services.
Understand Legal issues impacting Financial Services, Insurance and Pension funds.
