JOB SUMMARY:
Our client one of South Africa''s leading producer of gold and precious metals requires a Unit Manager to lead the Engineering functions

JOB DESCRIPTION:

UNIT MANAGER ENGINEERING (GRADING:D-UPPER) LEVEL 2 – SERVICE / LEVEL 3 – PRACTICE to Manage and lead the Engineering function at their operations. This is a legal appointment in term of section 2.13.1/2.13.3.1 of the Mine Health and Safety Act and is responsible to provide operational service to the Manager Engineering with a 5-year strategic planning horizon. The role ensures effective and safe movement of men, ore and material in the vertical and or decline shafts, horizontal haulages, plants and the associated maintenance and construction linked to the Operational Area of responsibility

NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical Heavy Current or relevant).
Government Certificate of Competency (GCC): Mines & Works.
At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience
Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
Clear security screening record.
Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
Registered as an Engineer to practice with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), Association of Mine Resident Engineers (AMRE) or relevant professional body would be advantageous
