Business Manager- Pest and Vegetation Control

SUMMARY:

An established environmental sciences and pest control company is seeking a dynamic Commercial Manager to lead the South Africa commercial organisation in income and profit generation, by pursuing new business opportunities and managing various operational functions such as employee activities, technical developments, training and business relationships within South Africa and neighbouring countries.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a BCom, MBA or equivalent recognised business degree
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales and/or marketing is essential
• At least 5 years’ experience in the Environmental Science and Pest Control industries in South Africa or international markets will be required
• A good understanding of logistics functions, i.e. forecasting, procurement, production and physical distribution is important
• Must have proven interpersonal and leadership skills to ensure positive relations with decision makers from different cultural backgrounds and business environments
• Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills are essential

• Devising and ensuring the implementation of the commercial strategies in South Africa.
• Supporting all activities relating to Technical Product Development, Sustainable Development (PTT initiatives), product stewardship, product defence, technical issues, and product and solution provision training.
• Providing advice to all stakeholders as the technical expert.
• Supporting the introduction of new product developments to the market.
• Managing the full P&L, including Sales, IMI II, CODB (cost of doing business), IMIV (Integrated Marginal Income V) and working capital management for the designated business area.
• Developing, managing and maintaining business relationships with direct customers, distributors, key sub-distributors and key account customers in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland.
• Defining and implementing sales plans and marketing activity plans, and contributing towards the development of overall medium to long marketing activation plans by market segment.
• Managing, leading and developing the Environment Sciences sales team and sales support structure in South Africa.
• In conjunction with Supply Chain, managing the relationship and efficiency of logistics service providers.
• Increasing sales and profitability of business in the South Africa region and increasing market share in existing and potential markets.
• Achieving Marketing Excellence and customer satisfaction by continuously developing appropriate portfolio and non-portfolio strategies for clients and end-users, while increasing Environmental Sciences Brand Equity.
• Proposing, developing and implementing marketing strategies to maintain and increase market visibility and presence leading to a growth in top line and market share.
• Managing marketing activities and related P&I expenses.
• Co-ordinating the implementation of all development projects in SSA.
