Chief Impact Officer

SUMMARY:
A leading international conservation and hospitality group, operating a portfolio of luxury lodges, camps and yachts across multiple continents, is seeking a CHIEF IMPACT OFFICER to define and lead its impact strategy at Group level.

POSITION INFO:
This is a Group Executive Committee role, not an advisory or reporting function. The successful candidate will connect conservation, community and sustainability ambition to capital allocation, operations and brand, while representing the organisation at Board, shareholder and international level. Core Criteria: 15+ years of progressively senior leadership experience in impact, sustainability, conservation, community development, responsible business or philanthropy Demonstrated success operating at C-suite or senior group level, with the credibility to influence Boards, shareholders and executive colleagues Track record of setting enterprise-wide strategy and converting it into measurable, multi-country delivery through operating leaders Experience leading complex, high-stakes partnerships or coalitions that cross organisational, governance and funding boundaries Strong financial and commercial literacy, including budget or portfolio stewardship, investment cases and fundraising Credible command of impact measurement, sustainability disclosure and claims integrity Deep expertise in at least two of: conservation and biodiversity, community-led development, sustainability\/ESG, impact investment or philanthropy, responsible tourism, climate and nature strategy Established international network with a record of thought leadership or representation at a senior level Experience working across diverse cultures and markets, ideally including Africa and other emerging or conservation-dependent regions A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent career depth; an advanced degree is a plus but not a substitute for executive track record Working fluency in global sustainability frameworks such as IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, GRI and TNFD Willingness to travel extensively and spend meaningful time close to operations, partners and communities Core Responsibilities: Define and continuously refresh the Group's long-term impact strategy, aligned to overall business strategy and risk appetite Sit as a full member of the Group Executive Committee, bringing an impact lens into major decisions Own the Group impact strategy, targets, investment priorities and performance scorecard Lead a major strategic partnership with an affiliated non-profit impact organisation, including joint planning, governance and shared accountability Partner with regional and operational leaders to embed impact priorities into business plans, budgets, procurement and guest experience Own the Group's impact measurement, evidence and reporting architecture, ensuring data is credible and audit-ready Work with Finance to integrate impact priorities into budgets, investment decisions and a diversified funding strategy Build and steward relationships with governments, communities, funders, conservation bodies and industry peers Represent the Group at senior global forums and act as a spokesperson on impact matters Partner with Marketing and People teams to embed impact into brand narrative, culture and talent practices Design and lead the Group's impact team structure, capability and succession plan On Offer: Highly competitive, market-related executive remuneration package Participation in the Group's executive bonus structure, subject to performance and governance terms Full package structure and quantum to be discussed at interview stage
