JOB SUMMARY:
My client, a large wholesale distribution company based in Houghton, seeks to employ an experienced and qualified FMCG Procurement Specialist. This is a One Year FTC. This position requires travel to operational sites.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating cost and rebate structures
Contract and supplier management
Understanding, developing and procuring unique private label product ranges for specific brands
Negotiating with existing suppliers to achieve the best business including pricing, rebates and payment terms
Engaging with suppliers on exclusive supply chain agreements to maximise margin opportunities and ensure that pricing is competitive
Managing the full process of bringing new products to market
Taking overall responsibility for supplier 'house-keeping' including supplier catalogue set up, product set up, maintenance of specification, supplier audits, stock issues
Reporting on supplier performance and manage communication with suppliers on issues and improvement plans where required
Understand and monitor product and supplier compliance in line with company terms and conditions and keep up to date with packaging, product certification and legislation requirements
Building strong relationships and rapport with key personnel, interfacing at different levels with key supplier contacts
Ensure regular communication on the business's strategic direction
Prioritising activities that present the greatest influence, both real and potential, on the profitability of the FMCG category
Develop and monitor supplier KPI’s
Experience in budget allocations by category and store to maximise contributions

Qualifications and Skills

Degree or diploma in procurement/supply chain management
At least three years related retail experience in a medium to large organisation
Excellent computer literacy, ERP and Advanced Excel is a pre-requisite
Sound Knowledge of procurement policies and processes
