A leading player in the petroleum industry is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Head of Finance to take ownership of the full finance function. Key Responsibilities:

Lead the full finance function, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and statutory compliance
Drive financial strategy and support executive decision-making across the business
Oversee financial performance management, including variance analysis and profitability tracking
Partner with commercial and operational teams to support pricing decisions and margin optimisation
Ensure accurate and timeous monthly management reporting and Board pack preparation
Lead financial controls, governance, and compliance with IFRS and tax regulations
Manage and develop a high-performing finance team
Contribute to long-term strategic planning and business growth initiatives

Job Experience and Skills Required:

CA(SA) or equivalent finance qualification (CIMA/ACCA also considered)
8–12 years’ overall finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role
Strong experience in a commercial or operationally driven environment (petroleum, energy, FMCG, or distribution preferred)
Proven exposure to commercial finance, including pricing models, P&L ownership, and margin analysis
Solid experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering
Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (SAP / Oracle advantageous)
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking abilities
High attention to detail with the ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level
