SUMMARY:

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing existing customer accounts, maintaining strong client relationships, and identifying opportunities for upselling and crossâselling. This role also supports marketing initiatives and serves as a liaison between the company and its customers, ensuring delivery of tailored solutions.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manage and retain a portfolio of key accounts, monitoring sales margins and growth opportunities. Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding customer needs and market trends. Conduct regular client meetings (remote and occasional site visits) to address concerns and explore opportunities. Track customer order patterns and provide performance feedback. Collaborate with marketing on new product developments. Monitor monthly performance against sales targets and budgets. Stay informed about industry developments relevant to customer portfolios. Ensure profitability through effective account management, including debtor oversight. Key Accountabilities Retain key accounts through proactive engagement. Conduct market research and data analysis to identify growth opportunities. Implement annual and adâhoc price adjustments across accounts. Execute approved marketing plans to achieve objectives. Provide regular portfolio reports to management. Qualifications Grade 12\/Matric. Diploma\/degree in Marketing, Business Management, or related field. BSc\/HND in Food or Culinary Science (advantage). Experience Minimum 6 years in sales within food or nonâfood manufacturing industries. 6-8 years of technical sales experience in these sectors. Skills Highly organised, selfâmotivated, and deadlineâdriven. Strong leadership and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Detailâoriented with strong documentation and tracking accuracy. Independent and teamâoriented, showing initiative and reliability. Strong negotiation skills with ability to demonstrate value to clients. Performance Metrics Client satisfaction and relationship management. Achievement of sales and margin targets. Effective execution of marketing and account strategies. Work Environment Remote role with flexibility to engage clients virtually and through occasional visits. Extended hours may be required during peak periods. High degree of confidentiality required.
