Managing Director - Winelands Pork

SUMMARY:
Winelands Pork is a prominent pork abattoir with a footprint in local, national, and international markets. We are searching for a high-calibre Managing Director to lead our dynamic team and deliver strategic growth in a competitive, high-paced environment.
A key factor to the success of Winelands Pork is the ability to engage with, and retain, a core of high-profile clients and suppliers, while continuously expanding this client and supplier base to ensure sustained growth and market leadership. This role is responsible to the board, leading the impact and performance of the business. We require a strong leader with a strong operational background which includes excellent financial and people management.
Key Responsibilities

• Operations Management:
  Direct day-to-day operations, optimise processes and systems, and ensure all practices are cost-effective, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
• Financial Management:
  Oversee the company’s financial health, develop and manage budgets, assess financial data for profitability, and identify both risks and opportunities.
• Human Resource Leadership:
  Build, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Cultivate a culture of trust and high achievement, ensure effective recruitment, retention, and professional development.
• Strategic Growth & Sales:
  Set and achieve ambitious growth targets for local and global markets. Lead the company’s sales and marketing initiatives, ensuring ongoing growth and customer satisfaction.
• Governance:  Formulate strategic and operational objectives, lead management and board meetings, and ensure legal and ethical compliance with all regulatory standards.

POSITION INFO:
What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Business Management or a related field.
• At least ten years of proven senior leadership experience in operations, financial, and human resource management—ideally within FMCG or agribusiness.
• Demonstrated success driving business growth and profitability.
• Expertise in business and management negotiations, and advanced use of business software.
• Outstanding leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Strong business acumen and ability to adapt in a fast-changing market.
• Track record of building high-performance teams and cultivating trusted relationships with stakeholders and customers.
