JOB SUMMARY:
Experienced Sales Engineers needed! Based in the Automotive industry, our client requires a qualified Sales Engineer with at least 5 years experience in engineering sales.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perspective:
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good technical report writing skills.
  • Coordinate and manage a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that projects are completed in a timeous and cost-effective manner.
  • Interact with customers and potential customers during the initial RFQ phase, and throughout the development program of new products. Manage projects through the use of various customer portals, communicate with all stakeholders and ensure effective project management standards.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering Sales (BTech (Eng)) or Bachelor of Engineering (BEng): NQF Level 7 minimum.
  • Passion for the automotive industry.
  • Good analytical & problem-solving ability, essential motor industry knowledge of OEM and P&A.
  • Exceptional computer literacy with knowledge MS Office.
  • Must have a very good understanding of automotive quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001, VDA 6, ISO TS 16949 and Q1)
  • At least 5 years sales engineering experience.
  • Good communication skills in English - Handling all communications (of a non-technical nature) with all OEM and P&A customers verbally and in writing
  • Good interpersonal skills and customer service.

Duties:
  • Compiling and issuing all EU vendor declarations (FMCSA and TSAM for now) timeously on the relevant customer PORTALS.
  • Continuous interaction with the Procurement Department, the PD Department and the Process Engineering Department on all cost movements on input production materials and components.
  • Obtaining, assessment (in direct collaboration with the Commercial Director) and perusal of annual economic inflationary cost drivers (pie-charts) and supporting documentation.
  • Updating product selling prices whenever movements in exchange rate (ROE), material cost movement and/or economic inflationary increases arise on all OEM and P&A parts – MS EXCEL based product costing.
  • Maintaining product selling price master-files per automotive OEM customer.
  • Capturing all new product selling prices on customers’ PORTALS, with all required details captured 100% accurately.
  • Submitting and applying for customer acceptance and approval on any movements in terms of product selling prices.
  • Negotiating product selling prices with automotive customers, whenever the need arises.
  • Checking and verifying customer-accepted product selling price changes in direct collaboration with the Sales & Marketing Executive and the Commercial Director.
  • Initiating Invoices and/or Credit Notes in terms of all agreed-upon RETRO calculations through the Finance Department.
  • Generating product selling prices for all new requests and/or RFQ’s received from customers both locally and abroad.
  • Checking customers’ PORTALS and downloading all product specifications.
  • Initiating new product/platform RFQ’s (SS001) through the Sales Administrator.
  • Require travelling locally and international.
