POSITION INFO:
Purpose of the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Business Development Executive with a strong background in the Intellectual Property (IP) industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic client relationships, and promoting the firm''s patent and intellectual property services. Minimum Requirements 5 years proven Business Development experience with a minimum of 1 year experience Intellectual Property (IP) firm is essential. PhD qualification in a relevant scientific or technical discipline. Experience as a Patent Technical Support Person or in a similar patent-related technical role. LLB qualification or currently studying towards an LLB. Strong understanding of Intellectual Property, particularly patents. Excellent networking, relationship-building and presentation skills. Ability to engage with clients in technical, legal and commercial environments. Preferred Technical Background Candidates with a PhD in one of the following fields are encouraged to apply: Mechanical Engineering Chemistry Biotechnology Medical Sciences Other relevant Science disciplines Key Responsibilities Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Intellectual Property sector. Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients. Promote the firm''s patent and IP services. Work closely with Patent Attorneys and technical teams to understand client requirements. Attend industry events, conferences and networking functions. Prepare proposals, presentations and business development strategies. Maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities and achieve revenue targets. Competencies Strong commercial acumen.
