Product Manager - Payment Industry

A Product Manager is responsible for managing a set of products or product lines over the life of the product from ideation through development, launch, and finally discontinuance. Interface between various other business areas, including the sales team, production team, development team, etc. representing the voice of the customer.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Solicit ideas for new products from others and contributes ideas for new products.
• They collect information on new product ideas, analyses new product ideas, and helps evaluate new product lines.
• Translating product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
• Setting up customer focus groups.
• Responsible for customer surveys.
• Lead the effort to understand the customer needs and define requirements for new products.
• Works with the team to develop a comprehensive set of requirements that address all defined customer needs and that are complete. Product requirements are effectively communicated to team members to assure a complete and consistent understanding of the requirements. Product requirements are managed to minimize changes once development is underway. Any changes in products requirements are carefully evaluated to minimize disruption to the development team and plan.
• Balances out requirements with cost to maximize the value proposition.
• Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; establishing time schemes with development teams and sales teams.
• Manage the activities to support the commercial launch of a new product.
• Provides needed analysis to support product portfolio planning.
• Create buy in for the product vision internally.
• Contributes to, develops, and maintains product roadmaps and other representations of the product line plan and strategy.
• Conducts a critical review of his/her product line or product portfolio to identify needed actions to discontinue poor performing products, overlapping products, or products that may require repositioning or re-launching.
• Manages any required functional, usability testing and beta testing.
• Plan and manage the product line
• Works effectively with the project manager, helping to plan the project, provide guidance, and monitor the project results

Qualifications

• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification
• Minimum Business / Work Experience of 3 to 5 years
• The candidate must have knowledge of the payment industry
• Analysis knowledge is advantageous
• Card Issuance experience is advantageous
• Project management experience and skills is advantageous
• Strong product management experience (minimum 5yrs)
• Entrepreneurial
